Replica of a bow brooch from the Latène period.
Bow brooches like this one are typical of the Celtic garments of the Latène period and were widespread in the world of the Celts and Romans in the time before the birth of Christ.
This Celtic bow brooch is modelled on a historical model from the 3rd - 1st century BC and made from a single piece of bronze.
The bow brooch is formed into a spiral at the apex, which gives the needle the necessary tension - very similar to a modern safety pin, but far more elegant.
Dimensions of the Celtic bow brooch: 7 x 2 x 1 cm. Wire thickness 1.5 mm.
You can buy the Celtic bow brooch made from bronze or in real silver-plated.
This form of brooch was used by the Celts of the Latène period mainly to close the peplos, the Celtic women's garment. The brooches were always worn in pairs on the shoulders. Used individually, the brooch was also used to close the cloak.
