50 leather scales made of nubuck leather.
These crest-shaped leather scales are made of a supple yet firm nubuck leather that fits perfectly and yet has good stability. The leather scales made of nubuck leather are 1.5 - 2 mm thick and excellently suited for making a light and mobile slatted armour.
Each of these small leather scales is provided with eight holes, two on each side, through which the individual scales are joined together. A separate support material made of fabric or leather is therefore no longer necessary, as the lamella armour can be made from the leather scales themselves.
Dimensions of the leather scales: 8 x 5 cm with a hole size of 3 mm each.
The colours black, brown and dark red are available, whereby the individual leather scales can vary slightly in colour, which creates an attractive effect when combined.
The package contains 50 leather scales of one colour each.
Leather scales have been used since ancient times by the Persians, Greeks and Romans to make scale armour and were still used by the Byzantines and made of bone or horn.
