Ornamental fittings of bronze were very common in the Viking period and are therefore often found in archeological finds. Especially among the eastern Vikings in Sweden, Gotland and Russia, very richly studded belt sets are often found as grave goods.
The dimensions of the oriental Viking fitting are 1.5 x 1.4 cm.
The fitting is available in bronze or genuine silver-plated.
Fastening: There are four bronze pins on the back of the oriental Viking fitting. To fasten them, simply insert them through the corresponding holes in the leather. Use pliers to bend the tip of each pin slightly inwards. If you then tap the pins flat with a hammer, the tip sinks into the leather and the Viking fitting is attached to the belt in a stable and flat manner.
