This Viking-era strap distributor from the Rus is based on a find from the Smolensk region and dates from the 10th century.Strap distributors like this one were widespread in the Viking Age and can be found in the Rus region as well as on Gotland and in other Viking settlement areas.
In the Viking Age, strap distributors were used to distribute the individual straps of the sword hilt or the suspension for the sax in such a way that they could be worn at an optimum angle on the belt and were therefore always ready to hand.
Diameter: 3 cm. Passage width for straps of 1.4 cm.
The Viking Era strap distributor is made of cast zamak and is available in brass or silver colour.
