Viking belt "Gokstad" in 4 cm width.
The "Gokstad" Viking belt has an exact replica of the buckle from the Gokstad ship's burial, which dates to the 9th century. The 4 cm wide Viking belt with the Gokstad buckle is made of strong cowhide of 3 to 3.5 mm thickness in 165 or 180 cm lengths.
Two embossed lines along the edges give the "Gokstad" Viking belt a slim and pleasing appearance.
The Viking belt is available in brown or black leather with a brass or silver-coloured belt buckle made of zamak.
Two sizes are available:
S: 165 cm - circumference 92 - 107 cm
L: 180 cm - circumference 105 - 120 cm
Because of its generous length, the Viking belt "Gokstad" is worn wrapped, so that the protruding end of the belt follows the folds of the garment to the ground.
The Viking ship of Gokstad is today one of the most important Norwegian cultural sites. It was named after the Gokstad farm where the burial mound is located, in which a king was buried 1000 years ago with his remarkable Viking ship.
In addition to the Gokstad ship, two smaller boats and several skeletons of animals were also recovered, including twelve horses, seven dogs, and besides two hawks, even two peacocks, which clearly shows the rank of that buried person.
Particularly remarkable, however, is the discovery of the Viking belt from Gokstad, which consisted of a precious buckle with a matching strap end and belt loop.
