The buckle and strap end on this Viking belt are detailed replicas from the ship grave of Gokstad in Norway. The Viking belt from Gokstad is made of strong cowhide of 3 to 3.5 mm thickness in a generous length of 165 or 180 cm.
Two embossed lines on the sides give the Gokstad Viking belt a slim and pleasing appearance.
Two sizes are available:
S: 165 cm - circumference 92 - 107 cm
L: 180 cm - circumference 105 - 120 cm
The Gokstad Viking belt is available in brown or black with a brass or silver-coloured buckle and strap end of zinc alloy.
The Gokstad ship is named after the Gokstad farm in Norway, where the burial mound is located, in which a king was buried 1000 years ago with his Viking ship.
In the Viking ship of Gokstad, a magnificent Viking belt with buckle, strap end and belt loop was found among many other grave goods. For a long time it was assumed that Olav Geirstadalv, who was already mentioned in the Heimskringla, must have been buried in that grave, but this did not stand up to more recent investigations.
