This remarkable leather belt with medieval embossing is perfect for wearing over medieval garb or LARP armour.The openwork hook fastener on this belt is modelled on the so-called Pitney brooch from the Viking Age and can be easily opened with a flick of the wrist.

The embossed belt can be easily adjusted to the required width on the back with two small axe-pocket buttons.
The belt with Celtic embossing is made of brown or black leather, 2.5 - 3 mm thick, with a brass or silver-coloured zamak hook buckle.
Available in two lengths:
S: circumference 68 - 85 cm (max. total length 92 cm)
L: circumference 83 - 100 cm (max. total length 107 cm)
The Pitney Brooch, which was discovered in the English town of Pitney in the county of Sommerset, dates back to the period from 1050 to 1100 and thus to the end of the Viking Age. It is now in the British Museum in London.
The Pitney brooch shows two snakes fighting with each other in the so-called Urnes style, which was typical of the late Viking Age. The depiction probably symbolises the eternal battle between the forces of nature, i.e. the eternal struggle between good and evil in the world, as was often the theme in the Viking Age.
The image of the snake on the Pitney Brooch clearly belongs to Viking art, whereas the shell rim and the beaded snake line are of Anglo-Saxon origin.
