Rune-hair bead in the style of the Vikings.
This striking hair bead or beard bead was inspired by historical models from the Viking Age and shows a writing band with the Germanic runic alphabet.From the Iron Age to the early Middle Ages, the runes were widespread as characters in the Germanic language and culture and were in use especially during the Viking Age in Scandinavia, but also in other Germanic areas, such as Germany or the British Isles.
The runes are divided into a younger and an older rune alphabet, the so-called Futhark, although there were also different combinations of characters in circulation. Our hair bead carries the first seven characters of the older Futhark.

The bead is available in high-quality bronze and real silver plated.
For threading the rune bead it is advisable to sharpen the hair strand with some hair gel or water, so that it can be led more easily through the hole of the hair bead.
Before you pull on the bead, you can also use a small beard gum / braid gum for very straight hair. This makes it easier to place the bead and also serves for a secure fit. A real Viking uses a piece of yarn to wrap the bead around the hair, of course in proper style...
