This striking Thor's hammer pendnat was modelled in detail on the Mjölnir of Fossi in Iceland and combines pagan and Christian symbolism into a harmonious whole.It may be that the wearer of this pendant once wanted to assure himself of both heavenly powers. Or that he wore the pendant to be able to trade with both pagan and Christian customers...

In Old Norse, the Thor's hammer is also called Mjölnir, which can be translated as crusher or lightning.
