Replica of the so-called Skåne Thor's Hammer.
The detailed Thor's hammer, crafted in filigree granulation technique, is based on a Swedish Mjölnir, which is also called the Skåne hammer after the place where it was found and is dated to the late Viking Age.Jewellery decorated with granulated filigree in the so-called Terslev style is known from the Viking Age from many sites in the Baltic region. In the granulated originals, small beads and fine wires were soldered onto the amulet in filigree minute work.
Our replica of the Skåne Mjölnir, on the other hand, is cast entirely in one piece, and the representation is magnificently expressed.

The Old Norse name Mjölnir for the Thor's hammer means crusher or lightning. The Mjölnir was the magical war hammer of the Viking god Thor, who used it to fight the enemies of the gods, especially the giants and, at the end of the world in Ragnarok, the Midgard Serpent. After being thrown, the Thor's hammer returned to Thor's hand all by itself.
Wearing the Thor's hammer was quite common among the Vikings in the 9th and 10th centuries because by wearing a Thor's hammer as a pagan, one could distance oneself from the emerging Christianity for all to see.
