Productdetails...

Odin pendant from Uppland.

The small Odin amulet from Uppland is also called a weapon dancer and dates to the Vendel period or early Viking Age.

The Weapon Dancer pendant from Uppland was found in a Viking Age woman's burial in Uppland, Sweden and probably shows a representation of Odin with a sword and two throwing spears.

The horned helmet on the head of the weapon dancer is typical for the representation of Odin and is found in this form on various representations of the Vendel and Viking periods.

However, the apparent horns are not a so-called horned helmet but a headdress in the shape of a bird, which refers to the two ravens Hugin and Munin, which are assigned to Odin as attributes.

Strikingly similar to the Odin of Uppland are the weapon dancer images of the famous Sutton Hoo helmet, who are also shown with bird horns, sword and throwing spears.

Dimensions Weapon Dancer amulet: 2.6 x 1.8 cm.

You can buy this Viking pendant in high-quality bronze or real silver-plated.
Alternatively, also available in 925 sterling silver (Please note the delivery time).

A black leather cord in 1 m length for the pendant is included.

Odin was the most important of the Norse gods and was called Wotan, the Furious, by the Germanic tribes. Odin, however, went by many names: The Wanderer, God of Poets, God of the Dead and War, Leader of the Wild Hunt, God of the Runes, Father of the Wall, All-Father and last but not least Father of the Gods.

His two ravens Hugin and Munin gave Odin daily news from all over the world. Thus Odin is also the god of wisdom and knowledge.
