Productdetails...

Amulet in the shape of a medieval cross.

This expressively medieval amulet in the shape of a cross is reminiscent of the medieval crusaders who carried that cross as a sign of their faith in battle.

The crusader's cross of measures 3.5 x 2.5 cm and is made of cast zinc alloy in the colours brass or silver.

A 2 mm thick black cotton ribbon of 1 m length for the pendant is included.

The cross of paws was once the sign of the Christian crusaders and symbolized the suffering of Christ. There are different forms of the cross of paws; however, they all have in common the four bars which point from the centre in all four directions, whereby the ends are generally wider than the base in the middle. In the Middle Ages, the cross of the paw was worn as a sign by the crusader orders of the Knights Templar, the Knights of Malta and the Knights of St John, among others, and can still be found in their coats of arms today.
