An equally decorative and practical ear spoon, made after a pair of tweezers that was found on Gotland and had this decoration.The Viking ear spoon is cast from high-quality bronze and is also available in genuine silver-plated.
The historical model dates from the 8th - 9th century and shows a bearded face, with two ravens, indicating that this could be a representation of Odin, the father of the gods.
Besides prickers and tweezers, ear spoons were also a common part of Viking women's costumes. Therefore, these functional pendants were found in many different forms everywhere in the settlement areas of the Vikings.
The ear spoon was often attached to a long chain or leather strap on the oval brooches of the women's garments and hung down from there at belt level - ready for use at any time. Often a pair of tweezers and a nail cleaner or awl were also attached in this way.

As early as the Bronze Age, small thorns or awls were used alongside the ear spoon and fine bronze tweezers for personal hygiene. For Egyptians and Romans, these were even part of the medical instruments, and they were also very common among Germanic and Viking peoples as an important part of hygiene and beauty care.
