Viking Torque with the Dragon's Head from Oseberg.

Here you can buy an expressive Viking neck ring that is made of thin twisted bronze wires with strikingly designed ends in the shape of dragon heads.

The Viking torque was modelled on the famous dragon head from the Viking ship burial at Oseberg (Norway). Link to the historiscal model...

The Viking torque "Oseberg" is suitable for a neck circumference of 47 to 55 cm.
The diameter is approx. 14 - 18 cm. Total length 45 cm. This makes this Viking neck ring suitable for both women and men.

The Viking neck ring has a wire thickness of 5 mm and at 95 grams is very light and comfortable to wear, so that you hardly notice the Torque after a short time.

You can buy the neck ring made of high-quality bronze casting or in real silver-plated.

Like the historical models of the Viking Age, the Torque is made of several bronze wires twisted together, ensuring excellent flexibility so that the neck ring can be bent open and closed without any problems, making it easy to put on.

The torque is widely known as the quintessential jewellery of Celtic warriors, but what is less well known is that almost all Central European peoples of antiquity knew the choker as jewellery. Until the Migration Period, torques were worn not only by men but also by women among the Germanic peoples.

In the course of late antiquity, the choker became purely male jewellery and remained widespread in northern Europe until the Viking Age. Viking chokers were usually made of narrow silver or bronze wires in twisted or braided form and could be fitted with a hook fastener or shaped end heads.
