The second of the great Viking styles is called Borre Style and takes its name from the famous grave find at Borre in Vestfold, Norway, which dates to the 9th-10th century.
The Borre style stands for the second phase of the Nordic gripping beast style and was particularly widespread in eastern Scandinavia, being characterized in particular by mirror-symmetrical motifs and interlace ornamentation.
