Large jewellery hook (chain hook) for necklaces.
This classic jewellery hook can be used to connect the ends of a Viking chain together or to be hooked into the eyelet on the back of a brooch.The size of the jewellery hook is 2,5 x 1.2 cm.
Material thickness at the ends is about 2 mm.
Available in bronze and real silver-plated.
Very well the Viking jewellery hook is suitable for hanging beaded necklaces between two shell brooches, as it was often common, for example, in the time of the Vikings.
This chain hook is also very useful for attaching chain spreader plates to a Viking brooch.

From about 700 to 1000 AD, oval brooches were an important part of women's costume in Scandinavia in Viking culture. Often one or more chains were worn between these oval brooches, which were sometimes attached to wide distribution plates or narrow, bar-shaped chain distributors. Sometimes s-shaped or omega-shaped chain hooks were used for fastening.
