Valkyrie charm of the Viking Age from Klinta.
This detailed replica of a Valkyrie charm from the Viking Age shows a small female figure, elegantly dressed and with tied hair, holding a drinking horn.
The original Valkyrie charm was made of silver and was found in Klinta on the Swedish island of Öland. The Viking amulet is interpreted as a Valkyrie, who hands a fallen warrior a horn of mead to welcome him to Valhalla.
The Valkyrie charm is available in high-quality bronze and in genuine silver plated.
Dimensions of the Valkyrie pendant of Klinta: 3.4 x 2.7 cm.
A black leather cord in 1 m length for the pendant is included.
Figurative representations of women are more common than pendants in Viking Age finds. They were probably worn as a protective amulet in this period, since in Nordic mythology, Valkyrie women were considered to be those who, after battle, chose the souls of fallen warriors (Einherijr) to escort them to the halls of Valhalla.
