Slight scaled-down replica of the Valkyrie of Hårby charm, modelled on an authentic Viking figurine pendant from Denmark.The Valkyrie of Hårby is a remarkably detailed female figurine from the Viking Age, which was made of gold-plated silver and was found near the village of Hårby on the Danish island of Funen.
The original Valkyrie of Hårby dates from around 800 AD and is on display in the Viking Age exhibition at the Danish National Museum.

As with the historical original, the plait of the Hårby Valkyrie charm has been worked into a knot so that it can be worn around the neck as an amulet. However, the figure also stands on its own and can therefore also be used as a pocket god or on an altar.
Our replica measures 2.8 x 1 x 1 cm and is therefore slightly smaller than the historical Valkyrie with a height of 3.4 cm.

The Hårby Valkyrie amulet was only recovered by an amateur archaeologist in 2012 and can be considered a minor sensation among Viking Age finds. Although there are other Valkyrie figurines from the Viking Age, the Valkyrie from Hårby is unique due to its three-dimensional shape.
The Hårby Valkyrie holds a sword in her right hand and a round shield in her left, her long dress reaches down to the ground and her hair is twisted into a knot at her nape.
It can be assumed that this Viking Age female figure represents one of the Valkyries who, according to Norse mythology, led the fallen warriors to Valhalla. Other interpretations also point to a Norse shield maiden or the goddess Freyja.
