Striking Thor's hammer from the Viking Age.
This Thor's hammer amulet is inspired by a find from Ödeshög in Sweden (Östergötland). The Thorshammer from Ödeshög is characterised by its clear, almost graphic design.
Dimensions of the Thor's hammer pendant: 3.5 x 2.5 cm.
This Thor's hammer amulet is made of cast zinc alloy and is available in brass or silver colour.
A 2 mm thick, 1 metre long black cotton cord for the amulet is included.
In the 9th and 10th centuries, the Thor's hammer was very popular among the Vikings as a piece of jewellery to visibly distance themselves as pagans from the emerging cristianism. Thorshammer means malmer or lightning - it was the war hammer of the god Thor, with which he fought the enemies of the gods, especially the giants and the Midgard Serpent. After each throw, the Mjölnir returned to Thor's hand of its own accord.
