Thor's Hammer with animal head and knot motif.

This remarkable Thor's Hammer is a successful interpretation of a Mjöllnir with the symbol of the infinitely entwined knot motif and a mystical animal head.

There are very few Thor's hammers with such a beautiful, sculptural design as this Mjölnir with animal button and knot motif.
The Viking Mjölnir measures 3 x 2.4 cm and is 8 mm thick - this makes this Mjölnir very solid and has a very pleasant weight despite its comparatively small dimensions.

Made of high-quality bronze and also available in genuine silver-plated. Alloy...

A black leather cord in 1 m length for the Mjölnir is included.

The Thor's hammer is probably the most widespread Viking jewellery today and does not bear the name Mjölnir for nothing because it means crusher or lightning. Thus, the Thor's hammer is considered the essential attribute of the Norse god Thor. With the Mjölnir, Thor fought against the giants, i.e. against the destructive and chaotic elemental forces, and thus ensures balance and order in the world.

According to Germanic belief, throwing the hammer causes thunder and lightning, which is why the southern Germanic name for the thunder god Thor is also Donar. According to legend, the Mjölnir was once forged by the dwarves Sindri and Brokkr.

But Thor's hammer was also considered a blessing by the ancients and was placed in a woman's lap for the marriage blessing. This is why most amulets in the form of Thor's hammers have been found by archaeologists in women's graves. Because of his journeys with a chariot drawn by goats, Thor is also considered the god of drivers, which is why the Thor's hammer was also often worn as a protective amulet for travellers.
