A set giving needles / pins - faithfully made to historical models from the late Middle Ages.
These originals obtained from the Middle Ages exactly replicated pins, needles called giver, are actually essential to demonstrate the sewing by hand at events. Or also to fix the scarf or garment parts.
It was a very clever idea, just to wind the wire around itself to form a pin head! This technique can be in such pins over a very long period, in principle through the entire Middle Ages and beyond prove the archaeological material.

The giver needles are made of a special brass alloy that allows to screw the needle head, which is also stable enough not to bend equally in use. After screwing with the help of some pliers and the subsequent rounds in a special die, the givers pointed needles are carefully sanded and polished the end.

The giver-needles are in accordance with the originals from the Middle Ages - 4 cm long with a wire diameter of 1 mm.
Available in each set of 5 pieces.



The term is derived from the word band imaging. The giving here was composed of a chin - and browband made of cloth, which was wrapped around the head and secured with pins. During the 13th Century was the forehead slightly wider belt and was stiffened so that it had a good stand. The giver was both with and without veils worn, the veil with the Schapel, a delicate tiara, was arrested on his head.
