The head of the pin is designed as a three-leaf clover. According to legend, Saint Patrick used a three-leaf clover (shamrock) to explain the Trinity: The three leaves were supposed to symbolise the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
The medieval veil pin is made of brass, and is 6 cm long and 10 mm wide according to the historical find, wire thickness 1 mm.
