Medieval key ring in the shape of the Pitney Brooch.
The beautifully designed key ring made of solid cowhide is studded with a replica of the so-called Pitney brooch, an Anglo-Saxon brooch from the Viking Age in the so-called Urnes style.The Pitney key ring is available in black or brown leather with brass or silver-coloured fittings. Dimensions: 9.5 cm x 5.7 cm.
The Pitney Brooch was found in the English town of Pitney in the county of Sommerset and dates from around 1050 to 1100. The Pitney Brooch thus belongs to the late Viking period. The original is now in the British Museum in London.

The Pitney Brooch is designed in the Urnes style, the last of the seven major art styles of the Viking Age. This style was widespread in the Nordic region in the middle of the 11th century.
The name Urnes style is derived from the impressive stave church of Urnes in southern Norway, where magnificent carvings in this animal style have survived to this day.
A large number of pieces of jewellery, especially openwork brooches and brooches with intertwined bodies, have been found throughout the Nordic region that were made in the Urnes style.
