Print product data sheet

Horn slab made of black horn for knife handles.

The oval horn slab is made of genuine water buffalo horn and is ideal, for example, for a stylish handle end or intermediate layer when making an authentic Viking or medieval knife.

Such horn discs were already used on the knives of the Iron Age as a finish between the blade and the handle. In the Viking town of Haithabu, a large number of horn slabs were found that had been used on knives.

In the High Middle Ages, disc handles also became popular, where the knife handle was decorated at intervals with a smaller or larger number of discs of different materials, or just with horn discs - as desired.

The oval horn slab measures 4 x 3 x 0.3 cm.
