This replica of a Viking sword chape of the eastern type is made after a historical model from Varbola in Finland and dates from the 10th to 11th century.These types of sword chapes were used especially in the Eastern Baltic region and in Russia.

The Viking Age sword chape is made of bronze or in real silver-plated.
