This replica of a Bronze Age razor knife is made from a Swedish find from Dömmestorp / Halland.Bronze razor knives like this one were widespread in northern Europe from the Middle Bronze Age from 1600 to 500 BC and are found in numerous sites.
Experiments with such knives show that one could cut head and beard hair quite passably with such a Bronze Age razor knife.
The Bronze Age razor knife is engraved with a depiction of a boat, which is typical of Bronze Age art. Boats were frequently found in the Bronze Age as an artistic expression of cultural life on jewellery, sacred objects and also on rock art.
The Bronze Age razor knife measures 7.5 x 2 cm and has a basic edge.
