Medieval weaving Shuttle made of wood.
This handcrafted weaving shuttle for board and card weaving is made of carefully polished pine wood.The dimensions of the weaving shuttle are 19 x 4 cm.
Towards one of the long sides, the weaving boat becomes flatter and ends in a narrow edge.
This gives you a choice of a blunt and a sharp side with which to strike the weft thread when weaving.
The shuttle is very useful for board and card weaving and is not only used to beat the woven threads firmly, but also to pick up the weft thread.
Board weaving uses a larger or smaller number of warp threads and boards to weave a narrow or wider band, hence the name board weaving. By twisting the weaving boards together in a certain way, an almost infinite number of different patterns are possible.
