Here you can buy a replica of a historical thread spool made from a piece of acacia wood.The dimensions of the historical spool are 6 x 4 cm, with a hole of 0,8 cm in diameter.
The spool is carefully polished, which shows the beautiful dark brown grain of the acacia wood very well.
There are several finds of historical yarn spools from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, but they were mostly rural in shape, whereas small, compact yarn spools were then more common from the Baroque onwards.
