Medieval brass spoon with lady's head.

This noble replica of a medieval brass spoon with the representation of a lady's head at the end of the handle was worked after an English model from the late Middle Ages.

The original spoon was made of pewter and dates from 1440 to 1470 AD. The head probably represents the head of the Virgin Mary. Spoons like this one were mostly made of pewter and were typical of the late Middle Ages.

The original model is now in the British Museum, London.

Our brass spoon with lady's head is carefully polished to a mirror finish. The special eye-catcher is the artistically worked handle end with the sculptural image of the head of a noble lady.

Dimensions of medieval brass spoon: 16 x 5 cm.

Brass naturally darkens a little after a while, but it can easily be restored to its shine. Vinegar or lemon juice will do a good job. A hot bath with rhubarb leaves or apple peel even works wonders. Normal toothpaste is also ideal for polishing the surface. Afterwards, the surface can simply be polished with a soft cloth.

This medieval brass spoon is a historical prop that is produced in small numbers and therefore does not have food certification. We are therefore obliged to give the following notice: Prop - not certified for food contact.
