Roman tent peg from Kuenzingen.

Here you can buy the replica of a Roman tent peg that was forged true to detail after the discovery of pegs from the Roman fort of Kuenzingen.

In the Roman legionary fort of Künzing (Quintanis / Quintana), several iron tent pegs were found that date from the 2nd to 3rd century.

Like the Roman models, this tent peg has an eyelet forged out of the solid material for attaching the tent ropes.

Due to the conical shape, which widens towards the top, the Roman tent pegs are not only very stable, they can also be driven through difficult ground very easily and have a wide striking surface, which makes it easier to drive them in.

Dimensions Roman tent peg 22 x 3 x 0.5 cm.

The Roman fort of Kuenzing was part of the Rhaetian Limes in Lower Bavaria. Built in the late 1st century AD, the fort was probably destroyed by the Alamanni in the 3rd century and abandoned for a long time. The fort is particularly known for its mention in the Vita of Severin of Noricum and a large metal hoard find, which conveys the armament and equipment of the Roman auxiliary troops at the Rhaetian Limes and contained, among other things, Roman tent pegs.
