Replica of a long bone dice based on a Roman find.
This long, rectangular bone dice was mad by hand and is based on finds of Roman bone dices.Rectangular dice made of bone in an elongated shape were widespread in the Roman Iron Age, and remained common through the turmoil of the Migration Period until the Viking Age.
Characteristic for the bone dice of the Romans and Vikings are the typical circular eye decorations. The size and drilling of the circular eyes make each bone cube an individual piece.
As was usual with the long bone cubes of antiquity, our replicas are not made with complete precision. The bone cubes may have slight irregularities in shape, size and colouring.
The side lengths of these long Roman cubes are approx. 10 - 35 mm.
