Viking-era bone dice made from genuine bone.
Here you can buy authentic bone dice based on finds of bone dice from the Viking Age and the Middle Ages.
Bone dice were already widespread in the pre-Roman Iron Age and remained in widespread use right through to the Viking Age and the late Middle Ages. As such, bone dice remain a popular accessory for historical re-enactment in LARP and historical re-enactment today.
Typical of Viking bone dice were circular eye decorations, which were often used in antiquity and the Middle Ages on other bone artefacts.
As was customary with historical bone dice, our replicas are not crafted with absolute precision. The bone dice may exhibit slight irregularities in shape, size and colouring; however, this is not particularly significant if all players are using the same dice.
The colour is not quite white, but tends towards a blue-grey hue.
The average side length of each die is approximately 8–10 mm, making them significantly smaller than the modern dice commonly used today. The size and bore of the pips make each bone die a unique, one-of-a-kind piece.
