Replica of a small Roman omega brooch from the 2nd century AD. Bronze, silver-plated or 925 silver. 3.2 x 3 cm. Needle length 3.8 cm.
Productdetails...

Replica of a small Roman omega brooch.

Here you can buy a detailed replica of a small omega brooch that was made after a Roman find from the 2nd to 3rd century AD.

The shape of this Roman clasp is typical of Roman omega brooches from the post-Christian Iron Age. The find that inspired this brooch comes from a private collection.

Link to the original omega brooch...

The fibula replica measures 3.2 x 3 cm and has a pin 3.8 cm long.
It therefore corresponds almost exactly to the original dimensions.

You can buy this Roman brooch in high-quality bronze or genuine silver-plated.
Alternatively, also available in 925 sterling silver (Please note the delivery time).
Alloy...

It should be noted that silver-plated items are coated with a layer of real silver. This can wear off over time if worn regularly and in direct contact with the skin.

The Roman omega brooch originally came from Spain and spread through the Ibero-Gallic auxiliary troops of the Romans to the Rhine, where it was mainly used in military units around the birth of Christ.

The Roman omega fibulae were on average between 2 and 6 cm in size, whereby the smallest fibulae were probably used more as a kind of buckle. Leather armour, for example, is known from Germanic graves of the 2nd century, which were closed with omega brooches attached to the side.

The pin of the omega brooch is pushed through the fabric and then locked with the movable round part so that the brooch can no longer come loose. In addition to omega brooches with bent ends, there were also brooches with button-shaped or snake-headed ends and brooches with curled ends or acorn-shaped ends.
