Brooch modelled on Uta of Naumburg.

This exceptionally beautiful medieval brooch is modelled on the famous statue of the Uta, one of the donor figures at Naumburg Cathedral.

Jewellery in the form of brooches, also called Fürspange, Fürspan or Fürspann in the High Middle Ages, was an elementary part of clothing throughout the Middle Ages.

The Uta of Naumburg...

Brooches were worn in the high Middle Ages, in the period from the 12th to the 14th century, in large parts of Europe by men and women alike to close the neckline of clothing.

The medieval brooch is made of high-quality bronze and is also available in real silver plated.

There is a sturdy pin on the back of the brooch, so that it can also be used to close strong fabrics such as a medieval woollen cloak.
