Small medieval stud in the shape of a lily.
This small decorative stud in the shape of a lily is inspired by models from the late Middle Ages and the Renaissance. The medieval stud is ideal for decorating medieval accessories of leather such as historical bags and belts.
The decorative rivet "lily" is available in brass or silver colour, made of cast zamak.
Stud dimensions: 2.5 x 2 cm.
There is a 5 mm long pin on the back of the "Lily" medieval decorative rivet, onto which a small cap (supplied) is placed for fastening and the decorative rivet can then be fixed in place with a few light taps with a hammer.
In the Middle Ages, the lily was a symbol of purity and innocence and symbolised the patronage of the Virgin Mary. In a Christian context, the lily symbolises the Holy Trinity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit through the tripartite division of the flower.
According to legend, the lily was presented to the Frankish Merovingian king Clovis I by an angel descending from heaven in the early Middle Ages and so the lily was also used as the coat of arms of the French royal family throughout the Middle Ages.
