Replica of a medieval strap stiffener with eyelet.
This bar shaped mount of the late Middle Ages has an eyelet and serves as a strap stiffener for medieval belts of 3.5 to 4 cm width.
Such strap stiffener with eyelet were quite common in the Middle Ages - they served as belt fittings to stiffen the belt and prevent the often thin material from curling and at the same time protected the thorn holes from fraying.

Made of high-quality bronze casting
Fastening: There are two bronze pins on the back of the bar shaped strap stiffener. To attach the mount, simply pass the pins through the corresponding holes in the leather. Use pliers to bend the tip of the pin slightly inwards. If you then tap the pins with a hammer, the tip will sink into the leather and the medieval strap stiffener will be stable and flat on the belt.
