The Gokstad Ship is one of Norway's most important cultural sites. The ship was named after the Gokstad farm, where the burial mound is located, in which a Viking king and his ship found their final resting place. The Viking ship from Gokstad dates back to 901 AD and can be seen today in the Vikingskipmuseet on Bygdøy in Oslo alongside the no less famous Oseberg ship.
