To close the bag, a leather loop was inserted through the opening in the middle of the lid, and the bag was then closed with a pulled-through strap.
The Viking bag fitting has the dimensions: 3.5 x 3.5 cm with a passage width of 1.5 cm, which corresponds to the original dimensions.
The Viking fitting is available in bronze or genuine silver-plated.
Fastening:
As it is documented from historical examples, the Tarsoly fitting has four pins of 8 mm length on the back.
These are best bent slightly at the tip with round-nosed pliers and then simply tapped flat with a hammer.
