Viking-era belt stud from Novgorod.
Detailed replica of a Viking Age belt stud in the form of a stylised raven based on a historical model from Novgorod / Russia.Link to the original belt fitting...
Belt studs were very common during the Viking Age and are therefore frequently found in the finds of this period.
Especially among the eastern Vikings in Sweden, Gotland and Russia, belt sets with belt fittings were often worn and often given as grave goods.
The Viking belt stud "Raven" has the dimensions 1.8 x 1.2 cm.
The fitting is therefore suitable for belts with a width of 2 cm.
The belt stud from Novgorod is made of high-quality bronze and is also available in real silver-plated.
Fastening: There are two pins on the back of the Viking-era belt stud. To fasten the stud, simply insert them through the corresponding holes in the leather. It is best to use pliers to bend the tip of each pin inwards a little. If you then tap the rivet pins flat with a hammer, the tip will sink into the leather and the Viking belt stud will be stable and flat on the belt.
