This detailed replica of a Viking Age strap end fitting for a Viking pouch is made after a find from Birka / Sweden.Belt and bag fittings were very common during the Viking Age and are therefore frequently found in the find material. Especially among the eastern Vikings in Sweden, Gotland and Russia, bags and belts with rich fittings were often worn and often given as burial objects.
The pouch strap end fitting end from Birka measures 2 x 1.3 cm.
The fitting is therefore suitable for belts with a width of 1.3 - 1.5 cm.
The Viking strap fitting is made of high-quality bronze and is also available in real silver-plated.
Fastening: There are three pins on the back of the Viking strap end fitting. To attach them, simply pass them through the holes in the leather. It is best to use pliers to bend the tip of the pin inwards a little. If you then tap the pins flat with a hammer, the tip will sink into the leather and the strap fitting will be stable and flat.
