Viking pendant based on a find from Hedeby / Haithabu.
Here you can buy a replica of the Haithabu pendant, a remarkable piece of jewellery from the late Viking Age.The original pendant from Hedeby (also called Haithabu) was made using a filigree granulation technique in the so-called Terslev style, after the treasure from the Danish Village Terslev on the isle of Zealand.

Viking pendants like the Hedeby pendant decorated with granulated filigree in the Terslev style are also known from the Baltic Sea island of Hiddensee and from many other places of the Viking world.
In the historical originals, small beads and fine wires were soldered onto the pendant in filigree detail work. The replica, on the other hand, is completely cast in one piece, whereby the finely granulated details are very well expressed.

The Terselv style, which was widespread in the late Viking Age, has Carolingian-Ottoman models and was widespread throughout the Baltic region from the second half of the 10th century.
The treasure of Terslev was buried on the Danish island of Zealand at the end of the tenth century. It weighed an impressive 6.6 kg of silver and contained 1751 coins, mostly of Arabic origin.
The treasure also consisted of necklaces, pendants, necklaces and bracelets, a silver drinking set with several cups and a large embossed bowl, as well as a set of toilet cutlery. The silver treasure from Terslev is on display at the Danish National Museum in Copenhagen.
