Forged neck ring of the Celts with spiral ends.
The forged neck ring you can buy here has been modelled on the Celts and Germanic tribes and is made of a twisted iron bar that ends in two elegant spirals.The hand-forged torques has a wire thickness of 0.5 cm and with a weight of approx. 95 grams is comfortable to wear, so that the choker is hardly noticed after a short time.
At the ends, the forged beck ring runs out into two spirals and has good flexibility, so that it can be bent open and closed without any problems and can be put on easily.
The open ends make it easy to bend the iron torques further open. Thus, the forged torques is suitable for a neck circumference of up to 54 cm and is therefore not only suitable for women, but also for seasoned men.
The diameter is approx. 16 to 20 cm.
Torques are considered the jewellery of the Celtic warrior par excellence. But what is hardly known: In antiquity, neck rings were widespread as jewellery among almost all Central European peoples.
Until the Migration Period, the torques were worn not only by men but also by women among the Germanic peoples. Only in the course of late antiquity did the neck ring become purely men's jewellery and remained widespread in northern Europe even into the Viking Age.
