Medieval brass knife with maidenhead.
The maidenhead on the end of hat impressing knife was taken from a late Medieval pewter spoon from England.The original spoon is now in the British Museum, London, and can be attributed to the period from 1440 to 1470. The head probably represents the head of the Virgin Mary.
