Large neck knife made from real damasus steel.
This wonderfully sweepingly shaped neck knife, based on models from the Germanic Iron Age, was masterfully forged from genuine damascus steel with 256 layers.
The Neck-Knife was forged from a single piece of damascus steel and fits very well in the hand due to its curved handle.
Such knives are often referred to as Viking knives, which is unfortunately not quite correct, since this type of knife was no longer in use in Viking times. However, this does not detract from the beauty and practical value of this knife.
The damascus Neck Knife is sharply ground and comes with a leather sheath with an adjustable leather strap to wear around the neck.
Length 15 cm, width 2.5 cm, blade length 7.5 cm.
The Neck-Knife is forged from wild damascus using two types of steel.
One is made of carbon steel AISI 1095, a classic among knife steels. As an unalloyed and rust-resistant tool steel, it is very tough and can be sharpened well, with a solid service life.
The other is made of AISI 4340, a nickel-containing chrome-molybdenum steel with good properties, which when used in damask steel produces beautiful bright areas and noble contrasts.
If both types of steel are forged together to form a knife, a flamed damascus pattern full of character is created.
The hardness of the damascus blade is 56 - 58 HCR Rockwell.
